Stacey co-hosts Charlotte's Morning News with Al Gardner and Stacey Simms and Health Headlines: The Show on NewsTalk 1110 WBT.   In 2010, She was named to the Charlotte Business Journal's Forty under 40 and as one of the 50 Most Influential Women in Mecklenburg County by the Mecklenburg Times.
 
Before her time at WBT,  Stacey spent ten years as an award winning TV anchor and reporter in Charlotte at CBS affiliate WBTV and in Syracuse and Utica, New York.   She's covered everything from record-setting snowfalls to crime to city hall.  Stacey's won several Associated Press awards in her time as a medical reporter, and has observed procedures from within the operating room, including heart surgery.  

Stacey's son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in December of 2006, one month before he turned two.  It meant big changes for her family and a lot of education as well.  Stacey now sits on the Board of Directors of the Charlotte Chapter of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and donates all profits from her award-winning cookbook, I Can't Cook, But I Know Someone Who Can, to JDRF ($12,000 so far!).

Stacey also sits on the board of the USO of North Carolina, Charlotte Chapter, the Junior League of Charlotte's Community Advisory Board and has been named one of the top ten local people to follow on Twitter by the Charlotte Observer   (@staceysimms). 

Stacey grew up in Yorktown Heights, NY and is a graduate of Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications.  When she can squeeze it in, she loves to play golf.  She lives in Davidson with husband Slade, daughter Lea and son Benny.
